P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

I've had to revert your edits on this article; the "obvious spelling and grammar errors" weren't, of course; they were perfectly correct British English, which you changed to U.S. English. Articles should be left in the style of English in which you find them unless their subject matter is relevant to a certain style (you can change to "programme" to "program" in an article on U.S. television) or the style is inconsistent (in which case it should be made uniform in line with the style used by the original editor). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:16, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your kind words. Glad to be of help :-) - Zerida 09:06, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Tutmosis, I want to lend a hand in adding to the Bay Area Hip hop scene. My personal interests are the Hyphy movement and Thizz, but there is sooooo damn much culture and what not, from the 80's with Too Short - Thizz Nation now. I figure, you being the king of the wiki Hop hop project, you might know (or have advice on) how to put together a team on getting this on there. As for as the to do list, subdivisions and what not. What would be the best way to learn about how to put something like this together? Thanks for any advice you may have. Carlos 18:41, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Dragon Ball names

There was a discussion awhile back (I think it was on one of the category pages) and it was agreed to use the original Japanese names where possible. Beowulph 21:56, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

List

Ah okay, I get what you're saying; a merged list for each category of characters. I responded on the page :) Deckiller 03:01, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

No Problem, I think that when I changed those pages in the begining, I should have warned you. By the way, I think that the pages look better now. Muchi

Template

Hey, a lot of us have agreed to place the SWProject template on the project pages that don't have any significant problems; just thought I'd give you a heads up. Deckiller 19:59, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Oh it's okay, most of those articles are good ones anyway. Deckiller 20:03, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, most of the articles you tagged are decent articles. Deckiller 20:07, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Sure, sounds good. Deckiller 20:38, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

JA Template

Hey, thanks for the comment. I just used the color scheme from most of the other SWU templates, but I think Wookiee is going through and making them all black and yellow. Deckiller 20:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

What do you think about the character section? Think we should add a few more/take away Ona Nobis and Zan Arbor? Deckiller 20:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Or we could just give them a section in the minor villains lists, since I think Zan arbor also appears in a few other sources. Deckiller 20:46, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Spelling corrections

I'm sorry to be so blunt but it seems very strange to me for somebody to revert a spelling correction to an article without checking how the word is actually spelled. I'd just like to understand what would cause you to feel it's appropriate to revert good changes without checking that the revert was actually something bad. Receive is actually spelled this way, and not 'recieve', as a quick look in any dictionary will tell you. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to understand what compels a person to do such a thing, as it seems utterly bizarre to me. -- Rediahs 07:34, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

It wasn't me, but it's okay, I'm not angry, I was just fairly confused. Peace! -- Rediahs 22:47, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Artist Response

Well I'm looking for something rather simple and square to go in{{Star Wars Portal}} and/or {{User Star Wars WikiProject}}. I can't be to complex because of the small size. It kinda of needs to be our Wikiproject's logo in a sense. Try using Image:Nuvola apps package games.png for inspiration. Jedi6 04:40, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

MoS

Hey, I've been taking some notes and whatnot. I'll try and get a draft up tonight, but that depends on whether or not I work on my college stuff :) Deckiller 00:03, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, that's a cool box. By the way, here is your edit count: [1] ^_^. You should post that on your userpage. Deckiller 00:10, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
It also works like a search engine. Here's mine: [2]. Deckiller 00:12, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks ^_^ I might go for the big 10k tonight, not sure yet :) Deckiller 00:17, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
I edit all around, basically. My first major task was adding lots of information to Xenosaga and Xenogears, merging all the information into lists, and so on. They still need a lot of cleanup, since I almost abandoned them for a time ^_^. Right now, I'm working on a template for King Crimson. Deckiller 00:26, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
^_^ Thanks, I see that you're a rising wikipedian too. I just finished that template, here it is: Template:King Crimson. Deckiller 00:39, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. It's the general navigation template for bands, so it was pretty easy to modify and add the albums. Deckiller 00:46, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Lol, yeah. I need to archive my talkpage again pretty soon, anyway. Deckiller 00:49, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

re:congrats

Hey, thanks for the message ^_^. Sorry I haven't been around TOO much for the last two days, I've been on a SEMI-wikibreak, meaning only 40-50 edits per day :) That'll pick up soon. Deckiller 17:13, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey there

Hey, nice work with the weapons/pronoun edits so far. Did you get a chance to read what I said about the video games on the talk? I think you'd probably be interested in giving me a hand with that. Thanks ^_^ Deckiller 22:20, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Cool. The only thing I recommend putting back is the sentence about disintegration for the disruptor rifle; I believe I read about that somewhere. Deckiller 22:31, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

American/British Spelling

The old American vs. British style debate. Since Star Wars is an American product we would use American spelling. Also to check what links to a page just go to the first link on the left side of the page below the search bar. It says What links here or you can go to Special:Whatlinkshere/pagename. Jedi6 05:01, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

New pages

I just created the Darksaber (novel) page, and a semi-complete Children of the Jedi page. Next up: The New Rebellion. Feel free to take a look and review ^_^ Talk to ya later. Deckiller 01:57, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! I think the Darksaber one should be a model novel page for the project; It is complete, and I was able to do it in under an hour. This format is a great way for us to pump out star wars novel pages in a short period of time ^_^ Deckiller 01:59, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
By the way, any other novel pages you want to see created? Deckiller 02:03, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey. Yeah, I've been planning it out. I'm checking out your comment on the talkpage in a second (SWU fan club meeting right now ^_^) Deckiller 02:34, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Table change

You add class="wikitable" to the Timeline of astronauts... What does it do? I can't see any difference? Rmhermen 19:32, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Huh?

I see you voted to merge at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alkanian Sector and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Tritithes. Does this mean they really exist somewhere, and I'm just searching for the wrong things on Google? BryanG 03:42, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Hence its a bot, if you want to remove the table feel free, that kind of stuff happens so rarely its not funny, less than 0.01% of the time I think -- Tawker 00:38, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for not freaking out, It's a balance game with that sort of thing, I'll see if I can work out a check that would prevent that -- Tawker 00:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

'The Price is Right' reedits

I removed the original paragraph because not only did it need to be broken down into several paragraphs, but was extraordinarily long and it seem to lack a neutral POV. It can always be reverted by the Wikieditors or the original author if something was done incorrectly -- Cincgreen

Collaboration of the Week

Arggg. Why did LucasArts have to make three things all named Clone Wars. Its so confusing. Jedi6-(need help?) 02:57, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes we could have Clone Wars, Clone Wars (TV series) and The Clone Wars (video game). I think I'll add the appropiate tags to these pages. Jedi6-(need help?) 03:05, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Also I requested moves on both talk pages plus the other List of LucasArts Star Wars games that I was working on and placed them at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Please respond. Jedi6-(need help?) 03:39, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Mmm, Lego Star Wars: The Video Game. The edits seems to be strange, but assume good faith and assume the editor is trying to improve the article. Try to talk with them on their talk page (and encourage them to get a Wikipedia account). I'm not sure if it vandalism, because I don't know anything about the subject. The article's talk page may be another good place to discuss the changes - maybe someone who knows something about the matter can comment.--Commander Keane 14:48, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

About the Hip-Hop edit...

I know almost nothing about Hip-Hop. I edited that page (I think it was 50 cent) because it had been vandalised, pure and simple. So, I must turn down your offer. Thanks, though.--digital_me(Talk)(Contribs) 01:34, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Hip Hop

Hi there, thank you for your offer regarding the Hip Hop project. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly an expert on the subject and I only edited the article to revert vandalism. Anyway, good luck with the new project! Hope I can help out some way. - Tangotango 02:16, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea. I reverted your changes to the intro because, frankly, the hip hop culture page centers on a 1980's view of hip hop that ignores the fact that the music is the most notable thing these days.--Urthogie 08:06, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

To Do list needs to be reformatted

I think each sub-section (specifically the stub list) needs to have their own section (the "==______==" header rather than the "===_____===" header). That way we can organize the stubs into seperate sub-catagories (i.e. album stubs, article stubs, etc.). What do you think?--chub 10:55, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Question

Hi Tutmosis. The way most portal colours are set is through a box-header sub-page. The New Zealand Portal colours can be edited from Portal:New Zealand/box-header. Thus, for the portal you are trying to create, you need to create a box-header. There are instructions at Wikipedia:Portal.--cj | talk 14:05, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

You didn't do that. I'm happy to help. Out of curiosity, what portal are you working on?--cj | talk 00:29, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Collaboration

I'm eager to nominate Illmatic (which is currently being nominated for hip hop collaboration of the week) for FA-status, even though I feel that more can be done to improve it. I feel that with a collaborative effort from members of the hip hop wikiproject, we can bring up to FA status in no time. Do you think its time to close the votes for collaboration of the week, or should we leave it open for new members to weight their opinions in? --Chubdub 14:53, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

'design specific dates when next article voting will take place, unless we want it weekly.

  • Considering that the amount of votes recieved are small and took place in a span of several weeks (2-3 weeks if I can recall) I don't think it should be weekly (atleast not until we gain more members). Perhaps the voting process may need to be done on a monthly basis? After all, bringing an article to FA status is quite tedious.

Within a certain amount of days the article with the most votes wins.

  • see above

On further note, I think once a particular article has been selected, we should notify all the members of the collaborative effort. Thanks! --Chubdub 19:21, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

A new template should also be made to announce the current Collaboration, such as this:

--Chubdub 21:59, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Looks great. Good Work! Have you made a time frame for when next article voting will take place? --Chubdub 15:25, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Definetely! A Hip hop peer review sound great. I'm certainly willing to be an active participant in that. Go for it!

On another note, how are things with recruiting new members to the project? I'd certainly be really to help --Chubdub 15:36, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

And will this peer review be accompanied with a rating sytem? --Chubdub 15:41, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Hopefully, once the project becomes further established, hopefully individual members will be willing to assume a more active role. And yes, there is still an immense amount of work that needs to be done (see the To-Do list) before we see significant signs of improvement to individual articles. But right now, we need to continue establishing the project. As for the rating system/peer review, I think the whole criteria system (lead, substance, pictures, references) sounds great! --Chubdub 15:54, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Honestly, I am not experienced enough to adress such topics. However, I think the obvious choice would be to post the announcement in the project's talkpage or send it to the project's most active members and try to get feedback from them. --Chubdub 16:10, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Community Justice Newsletter

Community Justice Newsletter

Welcome
Previously, various notices regarding Community Justice have gone out to our members; though this is the first actual newsletter. This issue will contain information regarding decisions made on the first meeting, our new council, and more...!

If you wish to unsubscribe to future newsletters, please add your name to Wikipedia:Community Justice/Do Not Spam.

New Council
Following our first elections, a new council has been elected.Computerjoe and Ian13 remain as chairman and chief executive (respectively); while Eddieh, Wiki alf and Xchrisblackx are replaced as councillors by Ilyanep, Osbus and Covington. The Giant Puffin and Pureblade remain as councillors.
Member Conduct
In the last meeting, the conduct of 4 members was discussed. Ethnopunk will be put on probation, supervised by Ian13, if he/she is incivil during this probation, he/she will be expelled from WP:CJ; the same was decided for Misza13 (voluntarily), and his probation will be supervised by Computerjoe. No action will be taken against Computerjoe.
Barnstar
The Civility Barnstar which our members have designed has been sent to Barnstar and award proposals. We'd appreciate your feedback!

Also, we are planning to make a Community Justice barnstar to give to hard-working CJ members. If you're a budding designer, consider trying to make it, then post your proposal to WT:CJ!

Name and logo change
There has been no consensus reached regarding changing our name and/or logo neither at WT:CJ nor at WT:CJ/M/1. While suggestions are still welcome, no action will be taken at this time.
Programs
We are going to try to create programs to more actively involve our members. If you have any ideas, please drop a line at WT:CJ. We will try to work with WP:ESP on one of these programs, at some point in the future.
Thanks!
Thank you for your time. If you need anything, feel free to comment at WT:CJ or come into our IRC channel [4].

Computerjoe wishes to extend his thanks to User:Robchurch, a non-member who assisted in making {{tracker}} redundant, as well as Misza13 for his continued support and to the whole of this and the previous council.

Hitlerian Civility

G'day there Tutmosis,

I appreciate your obvious strength of feeling here, but comparing CVU members to Hitler was way out of line. I'd appreciate it if, as a gesture of good faith, you struck out the comment. Cheers, fuddlemark (befuddle me!) 11:01, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for doing that. In response to your comments: it's not a matter of offending me (or any other person in particular); otherwise I could just say "hey, Tutmosis isn't here, I can say all the stuff that offends him now!" It's a case of being civil and not making personal attacks; comparing those who want to delete a rather malformed and silly idea (note: I'm not among the ones arguing for deletion) to Hitler is rather uncivil, and could easily be taken as a personal attack. I'm not always as civil as I should be myself, so I know how easy it is to shoot from the heart instead of the mind ... but it really makes everyone's time on Wikipedia a lot more pleasant if we're civil to each other. Thanks, fuddlemark (befuddle me!) 12:53, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

It seems that user User:Tutmosis. mimics your user and talk pages and vandalizes articles on military ranks. It is a sockpuppet of the long-term vandal Roitr (see User:Roitr/sockpuppetry)--Nixer 09:54, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Your edits to a vandalized version

If you want to resize images and improve the table appearance, please do it with not vandalized version. The versions you've edited in Ranks of the People's Liberation Army Navy and Ranks of the People's Liberation Army Air Force were vandalized by Roitr and unfortunately we can not always manage to revert all his edits before other users modify them. His versions are wrong and completely different from the proper ones. He inserts bogus ranks in the tables as long as completely wrong correspondence of military ranks from different countries. He has IP addresses starting with 88.155, 88.152, 88.153 etc. You can see other his IPs and edit patterns in User:Roitr/sockpuppetry. Please do not support vandalism.--Nixer 18:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Project updates
Greetings, Star Wars editors! Deckiller here. It's the first edition of the WikiProject Star Wars newsletter, and yes, it's a semi-ripoff of the Esperenza newsletter. I think it's important to begin with some good news: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Jabba the Hutt have reached featured article status! Kudos to the editors who helped obtain these achievements!

WikiProject Star Wars is also on a mission to improve Star Wars articles using the following ideas:

  • An out of universe perspective versus an in universe perspective (see Wikipedia:Writing about fiction and the future ammendments to our manual of style)
  • Evolving lists into regular articles
  • Moving excess information and specifics to Wookieepedia (and providing links to Wookieepedia per the "see also" and/or "external links" sections)
  • Enhanced communication amongst WikiProject members
  • More to come

These should provide the basic steps needed to improve and "encyclopedia-fy" the Star Wars series of articles.

Things to do
There are plenty of Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/things to do. An update to the page is coming very soon, and it will represent the new and exciting changes that Star Wars pages will be receiving!
Out-of-universe versus in-universe perspectives
Although details are forthcoming, I would like to take this time to explain the gist of this concept. Wikipedia has generally agreed that fictional articles should write about the topic from a "real world" perspective, focusing on real world issues and topics, with a section or two for plot synopsis and so on. Jabba the Hutt is a solid character example, and Clone Wars (Star Wars) is quickly moving toward an out of universe perspective.
Article evolution

As many of you know, lists of minor Star Wars-related themes are very common on Wikipedia; however, since these may be seen as violations of Wikipedia policy (and having seperate articles would breach even more policies), the tentative solution is to create general articles on a list's topic (for example, turning List of Star Wars devices into Technology of Star Wars, which allows us to cover everything from hyperspace to comlinks in a general encyclopedic fashion). This can be very tough for some broad topics, so the key is organization. I encourage all editors to list their ideas on the WikiProject talk page. It will be a very difficult — but tangible — effort.

For an example, let me point you to the Final Fantasy WikiProject. Some of us over at that WikiProject decided to turn various components of Final Fantasy X, such as Pyreflies, Yevon, and the backstory — into an article describing the world of Spira. Location descriptions were given a List of locations in Spira article, and the details themselves were placed on the Spira (Final Fantasy X) page. This is a decent template to follow — however, we will need to place priority on out-of-universe, "real life" topics and perspectives in realtion to the article.

Sounds confusing, eh? It won't, for examples will be popping up left and right in the near future!

Signed...

Re:suggestion

Hey, that's exactly what I was pointing out; priority on an "out of universe" perspective with a basic "in universe" description. Actually, the entire reason I started the WikiProject was to ultimately push for this. It can easily be done for technology, creatures, and so on. Check out my sub userpages from my userpage; I'm starting the project from there. — Deckiller 01:48, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 FARC

Hi there—Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 is currently on the Featured Article Removal list. Attempts to improve the article since its nomination for FA Review have been insufficient, by consensus.
I note that you have contributed to the article, and I wonder whether you're able to assist at this crucial stage. It would be a pity if the article were no longer featured after all of the work that was put into having it promited. Tony 05:43, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:18, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey Tutmosis!

Thank you so very much for your recent peer review analysis of Wikipedia's article on the DuMont Television Network. You really conducted a thorough review, and I appreciate that you checked all sections, added fact templates, and had a lot of comments to make. I will do my best to impliment your suggestions into the article. Thanks for looking at the article. Best wishes, Firsfron of Ronchester 01:39, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it would be really cool of your to do a copyedit of the fixes I make from your suggestions. I plan to start work tomorrow on the article (it's a bit late here tonight to start work); I do plan to hopefully get the article up for FA status by the end of the year, and your suggestions will certainly help. I also understand what you mean about a better timeline, and hope to incorporate that in better, too. Thanks again for everything. :) Best, Firsfron of Ronchester 03:09, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Hungarian Revolution of 1956

Thank you for reviewing the Hungarian Revolution article - you bring up a very valid point - one we have continuously debated - i.e. how to be accurately descriptive of the public sentiment without being too NPOV. The crux of the problem is that the event itself is the result of precisely these very strong (and very NPOV) feelings, which are noted repeatedly in the referenced documents (esp. the UN report). Only this strong emotion could persuade a small country to expel the Soviet occupation - certainly not calculated reason. We would certainly welcome your constructive comments and will take each one seriously. (I think you must have caught some of this back-and-forth precisely after posting your first comment). Consensus on the page, at lest, is that to avoid the emotional language would be to mislead the reader. If you can suggest a means of reconciling the conflict - i.e. achieving the best of both accuracy and NPOV then we are happy to hear it. Istvan 20:49, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick reply. Ive begun to replace some of the more emotionally charged language as per suggestion. Most of these are to be found in the summaries at the top. I hope this is more acceptable now in this form.Istvan 21:33, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Dear Tutmosis, after days of ironing out POV/accuracy wrinkles, I would kindly invite you to re-visit the 1956 article for a fresh look - I think you will find it to be extremely well referenced. Thanks Istvan 08:16, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the very specific detailed concerns. We will attend to them straightaway.Istvan 16:02, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Stephen Colbert FAC

Ouch... Disrespectful? Don't bite! I'm still kind of new. After the peer review, those of us interested really started to make some positive changes on the article, removing the quotes and placing the Wikiquote box. Removing several unnecessary external links. The problem was that since he is such a popular figure right now, we had so many people coming in adding new useless information and nonsense and vandolism that we had to clean up. It turned out that there really weren't as many "serious" wikipedians interesting in doing the grunt work on the article. I understand and completely respect your objections. I would suggest however that in the future you leave comments to the article themselves, because honestly calling me "disrespectful" I took personally. I think that I've done a great deal of hard work on wikipedia and this was my first article that I had ever submitted for FA candidacy and I personally thought it met the criteria. I didn't know any better. Thank you.--Twintone 14:43, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I have it up for featured nomination, if you could throw that on the bulletin, that'd be cool, cuz I haven't gotten any support/objections yet, people ignoring it. --PDTantisocial 06:28, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Kiero

Hey, sorry, I don't know much about Kiero, other than three songs that existed on it (Rise Like The Sun (The Dawn), Ride Like The Sun (The Dusk), and Musical Essence) and the fact it was only available in Toronto for a short while. There's an interview here where K-os expresses interest in re-releasing it, but only after being allowed to tamper with and redo the songs. Other than that, I've only found a few mentions here and there on various websites, but no meaty info. (Rishi B 20:09, 21 October 2006 (UTC))

Hey again, I recently found some more info on k-os... seems in addition to Kiero, he had something called "Take You There"... it was an EP that contained the songs Take You There, and the Rise Like The Sun songs. Just the three tracks. It sometimes pops up on ebay, and according to a [k-os.forumsunlimited.com k-os fansite], it's legit. Apparently, it was distributed by an indie label (Pure) in the states, and is pretty hard to find (duh).(Rishi B 10:22, 25 October 2006 (UTC))

Re: Hey

Hi. I find that musicsquare.net is useful for worldwide chart positions (though it only goes back to 2003), and you can find U.S. chart positions at billboard.com. There is also a less well-known chart called the ARC Weekly Top 40, the official website for which is at rockonthenet.com. I should note that some of the information on top40-charts.com is inaccurate. As for choosing which ones to include, I'd recommend against including airplay or download charts because I think a country's main single chart is an adequate indicator of a single's popularity in that country - there's no point including three charts if one conveys essentially the same information. I do think it is good to include any relevant genre-specific charts; for example, in the U.S. you have the Pop 100, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and so on. Hope that helps. Settlers II Gameplay

Hey I heard you were working on Settlers II. I looked over the gameplay section, and it looks pretty good. I wouldn't call it cheesy; it's written from an out of world perspective, and I think it covers all aspects (probably the two biggest problems of gameplay sections). I've never played the game, but are their different sides you can be (I.E. axis and allies in WWII games)? That's really all I saw missing from the gameplay section (it's kinda hard to know what's missing if you haven't played the game, and it'd be pretty dumb for me to pull that "broad in coverage" junk.). Another thing that might be the reason that you called it cheesy was because most of the paragrapghs subjects were "the player." For example "During the beginning of the game, the main warehouse is the only building that has a radius granting the player territory. The player can expand his territory by building any of the three possible military complex's near the border of his current territory and sending atleast 1 soldier to operate the complex. A serf can become a soldier once a sword and a shield are constructed." could be "During the beginning of the game, only the main warhouse has the ability to grant territory for further growth. Territory can be expanded by creating one of three military complexs near territory borders. Each complex must have at least one soilder to continually operate the complex. Soilders can be created by constructing a sword and shield, and using them to upgrade a serf." I'm not great with prose or spelling, but the idea I was trying to convey was that the subject changes as the paragrapgh moves on. If you are talking about soilders and how cool they are and you want to move on to serfs, try to connect them. I know you've probably dealt with prose a thousand times, but I'm just trying to get across that prose is still there in RTS games. If you need more help with structuring video game sections, JimmyBlackwing helped me out a lot. You're doing a great job though. Keep up the good work. --Clyde Miller 22:29, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Well look at the orginal research stuff if you haven't already (good stuff there), but usually people are more leanent with what needs to be citied regarding video games. It goes case by case usually, but stats and actual ideas are usually citied. I think I may have citied some uneeded things in Empires, but I think it is usually better to cite more than less. [1] If you say that soilders fight, don't cite it, but if you say that soilders can kill serfs better than other serfs, you might want to cite that. I dunno, it's kinda hard to define.--Clyde Miller 22:44, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
  1. ^ me (stupid joke)
I am quite surprised you understood that. As for after the FAC, I haven't really thought about it. If you need some help with Settlers I could give help out. I'm stil a relative noob here (under 1000 edits) and Empires is my first project. I don't know what to do next.--Clyde Miller 22:56, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Indian Navy Template

Excellent work. I did not know the code work and all. You did an excellent work by removing all the unwanted code and making it look nice. Even I had a thought of changing the colour to white but did not do it. I think the Motto looks somewhat smaller and the text to the links need to be in bold so that it looks attractive. I will do that.Thanking you.

The bold size did not work nicely. It looks very odd. So not making changes there. Chanakyathegreat 15:47, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

What?

Oh god, an incidence twice repeated of shit. The fall of civilization is being brought about by "profanity-filled lyrics" on a trivial Wikipedia page!! I cannot prove it to you beyond simply saying I have heard this very chorus many times. If you say this is "original research," then I dare you to fastidiously scour the article for any signs of unsourced writing (especially the section to which I was adding on, as its origins seem rather "specious" by your definitions) and delete it to satisfy your pompous faux-authoritarian impulses. Otherwise, revert it to my version at once.

fair use

A couple of points. Firstly, the issue of whether a free image can be created is a lot trickier than you seem to think. Is it really possible to create a free picture of J. D. Salinger (note that someone has challenged the fair use rationale of the current image, from a book cover by his daughter, and, so it'll probably get deleted soon enough)? In general, how easy is it to get a free picture of famous people? I think that the idea that the possibility of getting some famous person to release a photo on the GNU license (through wikipedia's "clout") should be totally off the table in terms of fair use criteria. If someone can get the person to do that, wonderful. But the possibility of this (vaguely present with every living person, and even with dead people, presumably) shouldn't actually cause us to delete existing images. The possibility of taking a picture of a famous person seems a priori similarly dubious - obviously there are exceptions, and there will be famous people it will be possible to get pictures of, but this is not easily possible to members of the general public in the way that, say, getting a picture of the Arc de Triomphe would be. Anyone in Paris can take a picture of the Arc de Triomphe and release it to wikipedia. To get a free picture of Tom Cruise is a lot tricker, and the conditions in which such a picture would be likely to be taken makes all the more likely that the picture will be awkward and poor and unprofessional compared to a promotional photo, which it would be perfectly legal for wikipedia to use. john k 10:36, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi - no I don't think there is any protocol on this. These are just discussion methods - straw polls - and its up to the people discussing it. The proposal is still current - not dormant enough to put a rejected tag. Rama's arrow 00:03, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Re:Cricket

According to what I dug up back in 2004 when Cricket became featured you were one or the only primary author of the article. Looking over it today it seems to only have 3 references and and no in-line citation. I'm sure someone will nominate it for reviewin due time. I was wondering, are you planning on getting the article back in shape? - Tutmosis 23:54, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I wrote cricket article ages back, and a lot of editors have changed the content since then. I'm curious as to what references are needed for the article. Articles like these are the interpreted form of the laws of the game, and as such, and mentioned a couple of times in the past, do not have to conform to the inline ref frenzy that has struck most of our featured articles. =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:09, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi - I noticed you added the November list to Wikipedia:Featured articles nominated in 2006. I've been doing these semi-automatically, with a script that parses through the nomination pages and creates the table. The script isn't perfect but it makes creating these tables a lot easier than doing it by hand. I generally update WP:WBFAN after updating the monthly list, with another script. If you're interested in updating these regularly (monthly) and have any interest in my scripts, please let me know. -- Rick Block (talk) 17:41, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Oh I had no idea. I hope by making the list I didn't annoy you since some people enjoy performing some tasks themselves. I don't wanna take any work away from you if you enjoy doing it. If you wish for me to take over this process for any reason, I would be glad to use your scripts. Thanks. - Tutmosis 17:48, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Annoy? Hell no. I have plenty of things to do and the more people able and willing to do any particular task the better. I actually put together a list a while ago of periodic maintenance tasks that various folks do, see Wikipedia:Maintenance/tasklist (but haven't added tasks related to featured articles). The scripts are shell/awk, I run them on a Mac OS X. If you're on Mac or Linux it should be very easy, if you use Windows it might be a little harder. The WBFAN script is at Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by featured article nominations/script - as far as I know I'm the only one who has ever run it. I'll put the source for the monthly list scripts on a page somewhere (I'll let you know where) so anyone who might be interested can run them (or improve them). If you're interested, please feel free to use them. I'll keep these on my "to do" list, but if you get to them first that will be absolutely fine with me. -- Rick Block (talk) 18:28, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Alright, thanks for the response. I'm definetely interested and I'm running Windows. - Tutmosis 18:40, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I've posted the source for the by-month scripts as well, see Wikipedia:Featured articles nominated in 2006/scripts. I suspect the easiest way to use these on Windows would be to download cygwin (which I don't think comes with cURL, so you'd have to find this as well). The main processing is done in awk, which is vaguely a predecessor of perl. I don't think it would be difficult to translate the awk code to perl. -- Rick Block (talk) 18:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Hence I would really appreciate some help! If you can help, an excellent website I found was http://www.dorsetforyou.com/index.jsp?articleid=343610 . Thanks ever so much, but if you can't help, I should be able to find another person to, so don't worry. Hopeful thanks, Rossenglish 14:54, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Phew, I made one, thanks for the table you made! There's a sample of a demographics section on my talk page, hope you like! Rossenglish 17:01, 11 November 2006 (UTC) Horaay we have an up-to-standard politics and demographics section, thanks so much for your help and input ;) Rossenglish 10:35, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I have noticed that you now support nomination for Weymouth to become FA, however it appears to have been taken off the candidate list, and the 'failed FAC' template added to the talk page, I don't know what to do know! Rossenglish 22:40, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I keep checking for odd mistakes and improving the Weymouth article, but I feel it is time now to renominate it for FAC, I can't see any reason why not ;) Rossenglish 13:31, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Tee hee thanks Tutmosis for my award, I couldn't have done half the work on Weymouth without your input - I have learnt alot about how things work now. Thankyou so much!!! =) If I get a barnstar for my work on one article, you surely deserve one too for your continuing work on managing and helping out with FACs. Rossenglish 19:11, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

The Working Man's Barnstar

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now!

  • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
  • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
  • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.

  • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

36 Chambers

I'm wondering about your decision to switch the word "earliest" to "first" in the sentence about the "Protect Ya Neck"/"After Laughter Comes Tears" single. Obviously, these tracks were recorded EARLIER any other tracks on the album (making them the earliest tracks to make the album) but do we have any evidence that they were the FIRST to be selected for the album (the first tracks to make the album, as the current version states)?

Obviously, 36 Chambers probably contains just about everything Wu-Tang had recorded at that point, and it's likely that they picked these songs for the album because they were picking everything. However, I don't think we can simply assume that when RZA was assembling the tracks for the album he said "First off, I choose 'Protect Ya Neck' and 'Tearz'."

Maybe there's a better (less awkward) way to say "earliest to make the album", but I think "first to make the album" makes a potentially false assumption. Hope that makes sense. Hit me back. Venicemenace 20:35, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree that it's awkward - that's why I didn't change it back - and I don't KNOW that it's false, but I also don't know that it's true. I'll try to think of another way to put it, and in the meantime leave your version up since it isn't a major issue at all. Thanks for your reply. Venicemenace 20:45, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Cats for Hip hop albums

Hi-ya Tutmosis, Yeah i was moving some of those as I have seen there was a cat for "East Coast Hip Hop albums" but it was empty. I agree it should be re-named. I think we should create those other cats to as the category for Hip-hop albums is very over-populated. Let's get to it. Andrzejbanas 00:15, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Request for help

Heya, I could do with your help. I've nommed Latter Days for FA, but, as before, my prose is being slammed. And as before I have no idea what they're talking about, especially as both I and two other people have already coyedited it. However, I assume that SandyGeorgia and Tony1 know what they're talking about, so would you mind taking a look at the article for me? I'll work on any article of your choice for anEditing User talk:Tutmosis (section) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia hour in return... :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 19:07, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I covered all the stuff you mentioned except the rating, which I tried to add to the infobox but it wasn't possible. "wrapped up" is usually the phrase, except for in the context of movie-making, when I believe it is generally dropped off. :) Thankyou for your help - what article would you like improved? Is there anything you'd particularly like to see on there? Because I'm drawing a blank on Google. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 11:26, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
It's not that I don't want to work on the cabinet it's just I don't know what to put on it. Is there anything you had in mind, or could suggest for me to do to it? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 17:58, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey wutsup? I was wondering who you got to copyedit your k-os article or if you are available to copyedit the Enter the Wu-Tang article. After it is copyedited, I will definitely elect that it deserves featured article status. Noahdabomb3 18:37, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to the AMA!

File:AMA logo.png

Hello Tutmosis, I see that you have decided to join the AMA. I'll be the first to say welcome! We're always in need of more advocates, especially since were backlogged most of the time. Before heading into your first case, please take some time to familiarize yourself with the AMA FAQ's, the Guide to Advocacy, and the AMA Handbook.

Just a few pointers for what we do. We communicate by putting a template on our talk page. The template is {{AMA alerts}}. The AMA also has it's own IRC channel, which reports new cases and alerts to us. It can also be used as a place to ask for advice on an issue. If you'd like to jump right into a case, you are free to check out AMA Requests for Assistance, which is our new request for advocacy system. The instructions for how the technical part works is on it's talk page. You can also use the AMA userboxes that appear under here. If you have anymore questions about the organization, just ping any advocate's talk page, including our coordinator Steve Caruso or deputy coordinators Wikiwoohoo and Aeon. Again, welcome to the AMA! -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 00:49, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Quick update.

Just to let you know, I haven't given up on the shadow cabinet, I'm just trying to get on top of other stuff first. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 19:14, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

WP:ADOPT

Hi there,

Looking through our Archives I saw that you took an interest in the Adopt-a-user program during its formation and development. Well this is just a quick message to tell you the program is well and truly lifted off, with over 200 users involved in the program, 50+ active Adopters and approx. 150 Adoptees, and always expanding. If your still interested please pop by WP:ADOPT, have a look around and ask any questions you want on our talk page. Look forward to seeing you there. Cheers Lethaniol 15:38, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Ah, no problem; it's not a big deal. :-) Kirill Lokshin 20:01, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

roger the red AMA case

I have taken up the case you filed with AMA. To get us started can you tell me more about the nature of this dispute? It appears you have added 2 notice templates to American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, can you explain the reasons behind this? In particular what information you believe to be wrong. Your welcome to respond to this at any place you wish, just let me where so we can continue discussion. Thank you. - Tutmosis 01:04, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Tutmosis, thank you again. It is great to see an unbiased opinion and help with this situation. About the archived material, that was done before I came onboard with Wikipedia and reading it is what intrigued me. On communication with these editors, I honestly have tried viamently to discuss and reason with them. Again, when I even such as suggest that there is ambiguous material in thier inclusions, they take a totalitarian stance and state thier way is "Right" and whatever I change, they will change it thier way. This raises many questions. If there are conflicting items that cannot be completely verified and conflicting references, then ambiguity must be stated. What thier objective is it seems is that any other information other than thiers that is conflicting, is wrong, period. Any kind of discussion with them ends up this way. Also, if you research the "Talk" page, editor in reference to including the "Moon" film subject, "DPSmith" objective is to quote "...I've left it in myself because I think it's so silly that it undercuts any suggestion that the new Biograph is to be taken seriously". This to me sounds like thier is a personal attack and bias here. I could honestly care less who is arguing with whom. All I care about is that a verifiable and clean article is included in Wikipedia, and it is not used as a personal forum. There are also other notes from these editors that suggest the same thing. This is also why I have posted the notices to obtain assistance from other unbiased editors to improve this article. Again, thank you and any thoughts, suggestions, etc. are greatly appreciated. --Roger the red 00:15, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Glad to hear back. I just want to say continue improving the article and next time an issue comes up between you and the other user(s) I'll be glad to give my opinion. Best regards! —Tutmosis 16:59, 5 January 2007 (UTC) Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Roger_the_red"

Tutmosis, thank you for your reply. I just want to let know know again I have tried and have come up against in incredible opposition to the point of being intimidated. When I do make changes in this article I guarantee that this will happen again. Though I am a newer member, you would know more than me, some of these actions I know would contradict Wikipedian policies and I will need your intervention. Can this be possible on your end?

Thanks, --Roger the red 20:46, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, first of all I am not an administrator so I can not block anyone if that what you ment. Even if I was and this applies to the current administrators blocking powers are used only on very specific cases such as WP:3RR or WP:VANDAL or WP:AGF. Action to be taken in disagreements over content require various quite long steps outlined in Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. Therefore, looking again at that last page the best thing to do at the moment is for all parties to stop reverting each other and enter discussion. Since you requested an advocate [me :)] I am welcome to represent you in any discussion. If all forms of discussion fail, you (and if you wish me) can move on to various other dispute procedures like WP:3, WP:RFM and WP:RFC. I hope this answers any questions/thoughts you had. —Tutmosis 21:11, 5 January 2007 (UTC) Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Roger_the_red"

Thank you for your reply. I do not mean blocking anyone at all, I mean representing me in my inclusions and securing that there are no problems. Also, I would personally not revert anything unless it was discussed and agreed upon. The other named editors that I have had problems with, would, and have changed and reverted without discussing it first (Please see "Archives"). Again, I have truly tried to enter discussions and they will not listen, period. I am busy as you, and when I find time I will check with you the changes I would like to make in the article prior to actually making those changes and proceed from there. Thank you for your time and do appreciate your input and help.

--Roger the red 21:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Users will often be in conflict "unofficially". There needs to be no formal end to a conflict, no deals need to be made or anything. If the conflict has ended, then it is done, officially or not. Your handling of the case looks to be ok. There is no one right way to handle a case. Although there was one thing I did see on Talk:American Mutoscope and Biograph Company that looked a little odd, under the section Notice to Editors. There is no Wikipedia protocal that says that changes need to be discussed first. The only reason that ever happens is when a page is fully protected from editing due to edit wars. Also, there is no reason to add tags to an article for the heck of adding tags. There needs to be a specific reason to add a tag, and that reason should be expressed on the talk page. There are much better ways to get the attention of editors. And new users are not always drawn in just by a tag. Basically, there needs to be a reason for, and because it's happened before and preemptive aren't very good reasons. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 23:07, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Closing the case is up to you. A good start may be to ask if the advocee needs any more help. One thing I did miss in my statement above was the possible WP:OWN issue with the "discuss changes" part. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 00:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you -Royalguard11 very much for your input. First, when I mentioned "Protocol" it was intended as etiquette, not "Policy". Also, if you notice in the "Talk" and "Archives", this article is far from looking decent, and there are many conflicting "Sources", hence the reason for "Tags". If these "Tags" can help, then they need to be there. As you started earlier, it is not "Protocol" to discuss everything on the "Talk" page first, which I agree, this includes tag additions. I am also in contact with our advocate and when enough verifiable information is gathered, the article will be re-edited and changed to a verifiable and proper form. Until these conflicting sources in the article are remedied, then this article will be of a questionable nature and its contents ambiguous at best. On the issue with the "discuss changes" part, that will come after consulting our advocate.

Thanks, --Roger the red 05:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

As you might have read I'm considering closing the case since your no longer are editing the article. Are you okay with that? Even if the case is closed I'm still welcome to represent you in any dispute. —Tutmosis 01:02, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Roger_the_red"

Tutmosis, I am still editing the article. Just have been busy. I am waiting for other information to come in, and having to go on several speaking engagements. If you need to close the case for the time being and re-open it a little later, that is fine, as long as the posted notices stay on the page for others to see and contribute.

Thanks, --Roger the red 22:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh okay, I'll leave it open for the time being. No harm in that. —Tutmosis 22:44, 16 January 2007 (UTC) Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Roger_the_red"

Tutmosis - Roger the red has posted a notice on Talk:American Mutoscope and Biograph Company saying that you're now the contact person for disputes regarding that article. Latest Posting

Tutmosis, I am posting for your review the most recent demand from Will Beback to tell "Him" hat the disputes are, or he will remove all the tags. Only one tag has to do with disputes. Please read the following Talk:American Mutoscope and Biograph Company and User talk:Roger the red. I would like to thank you for your impartiality and your assistance. Reading the "Talk" page postings from both links, there are personal accusations by this editor, which is truly reaching for straws and is not relevant to the improvement of "Content" for the mentioned article. First, I am not a part of an old company, or new company in this article, obviously. I have a couple of friends (Collegues) that are film historians helping me with certain research items on all articles, hence the word "Our" advocate, "Advocate" refering to you. I enjoy editing on Wikipedia without personal accusations and, I feel, harrassment in which I believe this is. It has happened time and again, and I post this User talk:Roger the red as just another example. Thank you. --Roger the red 01:12, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Tutmosis, can you please say something to Roger about copying material onto multiple talk pages? I don't know what his purpose is, but it makes it hard to have a discussion. Material about editors does not belong on article talk pages, for example. -Will Beback · · 02:17, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Tutmosis, thanks for the reply. I'm referring to the posts above, and to Talk:American Mutoscope and Biograph Company [6], etc. -Will Beback · · 02:23, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Tutmosis, the postings on your "Talk" page have been removed with only links now. I only have a few minutes of time so this will be a disjointed reply to what is going on, but it will be as detailed as possible. I quickly reviewed your request and I will reverse the postings on the "Talk" page, however I will include a small link which the reader/editor can go to if they wish. On the other subject of tags, I insist they stay up. I will be happy to point out a "Case" on my return, but feel there is prejudicial circumstanes that have not been addressed. Since you are my "Advocate", you need to please review the postings of Will Beback and question him as well on the intentions of his accusations towards me and his insistance on removing ALL tags. I can somewhat understand to a point the "Factual" dispute tag with a "Case" in which I will compile, but the others "Neutrality", "Verifiablity", and especially "Confusing" (Articles like Mary Pickford and others like it are not confusing and understandable to the reader, this article is not) are valid and to stay. I also understand that all editors are to be treated equally, unless one is an actual Wikipedia "Administrator". I also question why it is such a major point to Will Beback to remove these tags. I respectfully request to you that my inclusions be treated equal as such. I refuse to make Wikipedia a "Battleground" and if this continues I will take this to arbitration and take further action through the proper Wikipedia channels, which I do not wish to do, or to further escalate this situation over "Tags".

Capsulated, the tags are there to notify any contributing editors of the articles problems, and for them to further edit this article. I shall be returning soon in which I will have a simplictic case ready. --Roger the red 04:57, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

As you set out for Ithaka, hope the voyage is long
Knowledge is your destiny, but don't ever hurry the journey
May there be many summer mornings when
With what pleasure and joy, you come into harbors seen for the first time

Don't expect Ithaka to make you rich. Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey
And, if I, one of your fellow-travellers, can offer something
To make this journey of yours even more fascinating and enjoyable
This is my assistance with anything I can help.

Urgent appeal

I needed your assistance in a very serious problem and appeal to you as my advocate. There is an attempt to block me as a user on Wikipedia by Will Beback who is also an administrator. You can see the accusations on the talk pages. One of the main accusations is that I am somehow connected with the American Mutoscope and Biograph Company which I am not. Of course this will not give me even a chance to be able to write a rebuttal and explanation of the tags I have placed on the article. Unfortunately I am newer to Wikipedia and do not have members here in my defense. I can encourage friends and colleagues of mine who are involved with film history to join Wikipedia, but most likely they will be blocked as well. Whatever assistance you can be please let me know. I will be contacting Wikipedia administration to see what can be done. I do have my case mostly written in defense of my tag postings, but that may never happen because of this possible block. I have made my utmost attempt to follow Wikipedian policies and tried to provide fair editing and editing. But there is a coalition that does not wish to have outside contributions that negate their information. I am very busy and if this matter can be settled that would be nice, but I do have a life and need to focus on that, and on that note I will be absent for awhile longer though will try to log in periodically. If I am blocked, then it will be just an experience and that Wikipedia is something for anyone to truly avoid and definitely not support with contributions of information, membership or financially. This is not a threat by any means, for it is very sad at best. Please let me know as my AMA and thank you. --Roger the red 01:47, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Availability to help in a dispute?

Tutmosis, I'm trying to help improve the quality of the facts in a series of pages that involve the history of the Jewish Chasidic movement. I'm not a chasid, just a very knowledgeable historian who has a large number of quality resources and references available to add. However, I'm getting hammered by some fanatical chasids who don't want to listen to facts or reason. They think they own all the facts. Nor are they recognizing the references and facts I'm presenting in what I believe to be a neutral manner. These folks keep undoing my work and basically ganging up on me and my contributions. I'm not saying that I'm always right. But I don't have a particular agenda other than getting the best information into Wiki as possible.

Can you please help me? I'm not asking you to agree with my point of view, but can you please keep an eye on this dispute and maybe help tone these fanatics down? I'm relatively new to Wiki contributions (a lurker for about a year) and would appreciate all the advice you are willing to give.

For a starting point, take a look at this page. This same dispute affects something like 5 or 6 pages of similar material.

Thanks in advance for you kind assistance! --Klezmer 05:38, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

The problem isn't Hasidic fanatics -- the problem is Klezmer who ignores any facts or published works that he doesn't agree with or which don't support his agenda, and won't compromise, so he arbitrarily just keep deleting/reverting and wants the articles to reflect just his own opinion/views despite the comments and input of others who are more knowledgeable than he is about the facts. --ChosidFrumBirth 21:36, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey, Tutmosis. The old discussion about 'Pac's birthname is back! I've filed an request for comment hoping to clear this up. Wow. Finding references for the Shadow Cabinet was difficult. Of course, cos it's all assumed to be common knowledge there's hardly anything I could use. Thanks for uploading Image:Gang related (film).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:Shut_em_down_(album).jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Shut_em_down_(album).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I have tagged Image:Backdafucup_part_II.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 16:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:JA_The_Followers.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:JA_The_Followers.jpg.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PxMa 22:21, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
